It was the last minute decision that we brought Josh for a train ride in Santa Cruz. Due to the weather condition we went to the Roaring Camp Railroad on Saturday.
The train schedule leaving at 2:00pm. We came to the site around 1:10. We were right on time 45 minutes prior the train schedule. However for some reasons, the train arrived late. We waited at the small station for almost one and half hours.
There were lots of people lined up to buy train tickets. So it's better that you can purchase the tickets online before coming.

Ride into the past on 19Th century steam trains. In the 1880s, those narrow-gauge steam trains were used to haul giant redwood logs out of the mountains. Today these engines at the Roaring Camp still providing regularly scheduled passenger service in America.
This weekend, they have a special event 'Eggstraordinary Egg Hunt'! Kids take the steam train to Bear Mountain to hunt for thousands of chocolate candy eggs hidden by the Easter Bunny in a redwood forest and win prizes.
