Tips on Lunch Bento Boxes for Kids!

Lunch in bento box is fun. I love to create different bento lunches for my dear Josh! Started from this September, he has to eat lunch at school everyday. Since then I have prepared some fun and delicious lunch boxes for him. :) I can't tell you how happy I am by looking at his face when he smiled at his lunch! He also told me how proud he was at school during lunch time when his buddies asked about what's in the box!

Every morning I will spend at least 20 minutes to make it. Sometimes I planned ahead if I have something interesting that I have to put in the box. It's like thinking about what dinner to make every night. It's getting on my mind constantly! Gees!

I have some tips for you if you want to start making bento lunches for your kids!

-Choose the right and different sized containers
-Buy some muffin wrappers at different sizes as dividers
-Pack healthy and balanced lunches
(Protein, Carbohydrates,Vegetables, Fruits)
-Pack cold lunch or hot lunch depends on the weather condition

In my son's school, no deliver hot lunch nor microwave, therefore I have to try harder to keep the food cold in summer, stayed warm in winter! Usually I make cold noodles, salads, sushi rolls, and sandwiches on hot weather days. For cold weather days, I cooked the rice in the early morning. I place the food (eg Teriyaki Salmon) on the bottom of the Thermos food jar with hot rice on top.

Before I used to say one cup of coffee everyday together is love. Now I will say make a lunch box for my son everyday is love! :)
