The Sylvia M. Ghiglieri Piano Competition

Founded in 1997, the Sylvia M. Ghiglieri Piano Competition is an annual event intended to recognize and promote the musical growth of promising young pianists in grades 5-12. Winners are chosen based on performances held at CSU, Stanislaus each spring and receive cash awards as well as scholarships to attend Summer Music at Stanislaus.  In addition, the first prize winner in the Senior Division (grades 9-12) is eligible to perform a solo recital in the Bernell and Flora Snider Music Recital Hall and to attend the Chamber Music Session of Summer Music at Stanislaus on full scholarship.  The Chamber Music Session brings together some of California’s most outstanding young musicians for ten days of intensive coaching and instruction from artist faculty culminating in a gala performance.
